Frank's Brother
Criminal Activities
Assault
Threatening another with imminent physical harm or displaying a weapon in a manner that puts others in reasonable fear of harm; in many jurisdictions brandishing a firearm or threatening violence is a criminal offense.
Situation:
"At the start of the episode Frank and his brother Gino physically fight in the bar (grunting and scuffling). In flashback scenes Frank also describes violent beatings in the 1960s-era conflict with Reggie/Hakim and the group references past incidents of violent assaults."
Criminal Threats
Knowingly making a threat to commit a violent act against another person (words or gestures that place a reasonable person in fear of imminent physical harm) can constitute a criminal threat or assault in U.S. jurisdictions. Simple verbal threats that place a victim in reasonable fear may be charged as misdemeanor assault or as a separate criminal-threats offense depending on the jurisdiction.
Situation:
"During the initial altercation Gino repeatedly shouts, 'I'll kill you, I'll kill you, I'll kill you!' directed at Frankie, constituting a verbal death threat."
Drug Dealing
Unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and the actual sale/distribution of controlled substances (state and federal controlled‑substances laws).
Situation:
"In flashback Frank describes working in Colombia as 'quality control for his Colombian cocaine connection'—an admission of involvement in the cocaine distribution operation."
Possession of a controlled substance
Unlawful possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) under state and federal law.
Situation:
"After Frank's return from prison a small 'bump of coke' is shown and Gino is openly using drugs in the club, which is an on-screen depiction of cocaine possession/use."
