The Gang Solves the North Korea Situation
Criminal Activities
Attempted poisoning
Attempting to obtain a toxic chemical (antifreeze) with the intent to add it to alcoholic beverages, which would constitute poisoning/adulteration.
Situation:
"Frank asks Dee to go get antifreeze to 'sweeten' / alter the moonshine/microbrew — an explicit plan to adulterate drinks with a poisonous substance."
Breaking and Entering
Unlawfully entering another person's dwelling or property without permission. Depending on jurisdiction and facts (e.g., if done with intent to commit a felony), this can be burglary; otherwise it is criminal trespass or unlawful entry.
Situation:
"Charlie, Mac and Dennis attempt to force open a locked door at Mr. Kim's restaurant (kicking, spin kick, and using another person's head/shoulders as a battering ram) to gain access to restricted/private areas."
Endangering a child
Putting a minor at risk of physical or psychological harm by forcing or exposing them to sexualized situations and environments.
Situation:
"By putting Sun‑Li (a 12‑year‑old) into a public wet T‑shirt contest and exposing her to an adult crowd and the Gang's predatory scheme, the Gang endangered and abused a child."
Fraud
Making false statements or omissions to obtain federally backed relief loans (PPP) or using funds for purposes other than represented to the lender/SBA. Under federal law, knowingly making false statements to obtain loan proceeds (and misuse of those proceeds) can constitute bank fraud and related federal offenses.
Situation:
"Dee (with Dennis' involvement in the scheme) poses as a health inspector named 'Rita Fires' and tells Mr. Kim she needs to inspect the secret microbrew, using the impersonation to attempt to obtain his recipe and information."
Illegal manufacture of untaxed/illicit alcohol
Producing and distributing unregulated, homemade alcohol (moonshine) for sale/consumption.
Situation:
"The Gang produces potent homemade moonshine and discusses using it as their bar's 'microbrew' to keep customers from going to Mr. Kim's, effectively manufacturing and distributing illicit alcohol."
Sexual exploitation
Orchestrating a sexualized wet T‑shirt event that results in a minor being exposed to the crowd; exploiting a minor for sexualized entertainment.
Situation:
"The Gang stages a wet T‑shirt stunt as part of their plan to boost business; they blast Sun‑Li (who they later learn is 12 years old) with water onstage, exposing her breasts to the crowd — constituting sexual exploitation and indecent exposure of a child."
Theft
Unauthorized taking and consumption of another person's personal property (petty theft/larceny): intentionally taking possession of property belonging to someone else without that person's consent.
Situation:
"Frank obtains Mr. Kim's secret microbrew recipe (he exclaims 'Boom! Only Mr. Kim's secret microbrew recipe'), removing it from the business without consent."
Threats
Threatening violence or economic harm to coerce a business to return money or comply (threats / attempted extortion).
Situation:
"Members of the Gang threaten Mr. Kim (e.g., 'we will send you people back to the Stone Age') and use aggressive, intimidating behavior to force him to comply or reveal information about the microbrew."
Vandalism
Intentionally damaging, destroying, or defacing another's property; charged as criminal mischief, vandalism, or similar offenses under U.S. law.
Situation:
"Charlie and Mac repeatedly kick and ram the locked door at Mr. Kim's, and use people as battering rams, causing damage to the door and likely other property during the forced-entry attempts."
