Criminal Activities
Battery
Battery: the intentional and offensive (or harmful) touching of another person without consent. Non‑consensual contact with a sexual body part can also be treated as sexualized battery under some jurisdictions.
Situation:
"During Industry Night, Charlie performs a song and spits toward the industry guests. The transcript explicitly notes Charlie's performance and shows '(spits)' in the action lines and multiple prompts of 'Spit! Spit!', and the guests are then driven out after being spat upon."
Criminal Threats
Knowingly making a threat to commit a violent act against another person (words or gestures that place a reasonable person in fear of imminent physical harm) can constitute a criminal threat or assault in U.S. jurisdictions. Simple verbal threats that place a victim in reasonable fear may be charged as misdemeanor assault or as a separate criminal-threats offense depending on the jurisdiction.
Situation:
"During rehearsal/banter practice the Gang exchanges heated insults. After a provocation about a family member, a character says explicitly, "I will strangle you, I'll stick my g*dd*mn thumb through your eye!" The transcript shows this explicit threat of physical violence in the context of a heated on‑stage rehearsal."
False Imprisonment
False imprisonment is the unlawful restraint of a person's freedom of movement without their consent or legal authority to do so. It includes confinement in a locked room or other space when the confined person cannot leave.
Situation:
"Charlie Kelly is locked in the bar's basement to prevent him from performing his song. The transcript records the lock clicking and Charlie shouting, "Are you locking me in here?!" followed by the group's explanation, "Well, we just couldn't have him do that song." Multiple members of the Gang are present and collectively made the decision to lock him in the basement."
